Mandyy came in and modelled my “Colour As A Subject” for my school assignment. The freakiest part of this was, about a week before the shoot I sent her an email outlining what I wanted to do…She replied with an attached picture of a look she was wanting to try with me. And I kid you not, it was almost EXACTLY what I envisioned in my head AND it was also the color I had chosen for the shoot: purple. So creepy, it sent chills down my spine! We must be kindred spirits, Mandyy and I! :) Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot, and these turned out better than I envisioned them. Which is a rarity. :)

Here is Victoria, my low key shoot for school. She was fabulous and fit this look perfectly! I will probably get a bad mark on these, because the skin is too bright, but it turned out exactly how I envisioned low key. I guess I don’t like technically perfect low key images. Victoria was perfection to work with, there were 5 or so people on set when we took these, and she was in a lace corset and matching panties, and worked it!! Definately adding this girl to my website. :)

The second set in my “school series” is Muted Colour. For this assignment we had to do something at the image capture stage to mute color. One of the girls in my class used dry ice to create smoke, and another used a fog machine. I thought immediately of using a bridal veil (maybe I have some unknown desire to shoot weddings…Uhmmm, still a no for me. :) But I would love to shoot bridal fashion ads though!). Brittany works with my husband, and I immediately thought of her gorgeous blue eyes for this. She is stunningly beautiful, and so much fun to shoot. You will definately see more of her in the future! :)

My next six posts are all assignments from school for a course called, “Tonal Harmony”. The first part of the assignment was to do a high key shoot. High key is when the majority of the tones in a picture have light values (not alot of stark shadows or dark colored clothing). I was lucky to have Brittany come and model for me. I love working with her. She has a bubbly, warm personality and has a special place in my heart, as she was the first model I ever shot. She brings innocence with her big blue eyes, and these came out almost exactly as I imagined they would.

Leave me a comment. That way if I get a bad mark, I can refer my prof here to show him that real people actually liked them!! That is of course, making a huge assumption that you will like them. LOL. :)

I just have to say, I love this girl to pieces!! She has the most amazing personality ever. I drove down to her farm and was very happy to meet Mandyy’s two siblings, Carly and Nick, her dad and her grandma. It’s easy to see why Mandyy is the way she is, once I met her family. I also met Lucy, Mandyy’s pregnant horse, and she was a superstar. (HUGE THANK YOU TO MANDYY’S FAMILY FOR ALL THEIR HELP with everything!!) It was freezing cold, and Mandyy stood barefoot in the snow, posed without a jacket on and didn’t complain once (I, by the way,  had THREE layers on). I was surprised when it ended because time flew by. I love shooting with this girl because she in undeniably easy to talk to, and has a heart of gold. The pictures are beautiful!
